Project Update and Boardwalk Notices
We have been alerted that the initial direction of the beach fill construction has changed and the starting location has been refined. The contractor intends to start pumping sand at R-101.5 (3967 Cape San Blas Road) and pump to the north first, then proceed south from the 3967 Cape San Blas Area once the northern end of the project is completed.
Additionally, the submerged breakwater construction will now start at the northern end of the project, and then proceed to the south. Sand pumping is still set to begin on or around the 23rd of March.
Additionally, there are several boardwalks that are within the fill footprint and should be removed to receive the maximum amount of sand. If these boardwalks are not removed, the contractor will place sand up to and as close as possible but will not fill under them. Some sand will naturally flow under the boardwalks but there will be a hole and the contractor will not be required to fill underneath them.
The following properties have been identified as having existing boardwalks within the fill footprint:
- 4091 Cape San Blas Road
- 4011 Cape San Blas Road
- 3975 Cape San Blas Road
